Wiles Cellars 2008 Hope Cuvee Pinot Noir
After spending 7 years on the east coast working for a small importer, multiple restaurants and running a wine retail shop I was fortunate to visit Oregon and experience Oregon pinot noir production first hand. With an ensuing invite to work harvest for R.Stuart & Co. I made the decision to pull up stakes and take the plunge. After years of learning the craft of wine making I am proud to share the “fruits” of my labor. Thank you for taking the time to learn about Wiles Cellars and hopefully experience my Hope Cuvee pinot noir.
My choice of naming my first wine Hope is in honor of my mother and niece, who share Hope as a middle name. Cuvee is in reference to a blend of the vineyards that I am fortunate to work with. Temperance Hill Vineyard has and will continue to be the majority of the blend of Hope Cuvee. Dai Crisp, the vineyard manager, is renowned for his diligence in the vineyard and sustainable practices to create some of Oregon’s most revered fruit. I am thrilled to be able to continue to work with Dai, and am hopeful to one day be able to produce a Temperance Hill Vineyard designate bottling.
